There is Hope

I searched and searched for meaning to my life,
I've tried it all, and believe me I've paid the price.

My heart was empty, broken with nothing inside,
there was no hope, no one to care if I lived, or died.

Darkness was my only friend,
on this road that was a dead end.

Then one night as I was thinking about ending it all,
there came this memory of, Jesus will hear you if you call.

At first Satan tried to tell me, he doesn't want you, but I do,
look at all the things you have done, now don't be a fool.

It seems like I could hear this voice deep in my heart,
it said, I love you, come to me and from you I'll never part.

There was a battle raging inside me,
but I got down on my knees.

Jesus, I cried save me from this life of sin,
he said, you only have to let me come in.

Now I understand why I went through all those things,
that is to help someone else see what loving Jesus brings.
